1. What’s the Difference Between the EC-17 and EC-27?
The EC-17 is smaller and more portable, ideal for compact workspaces and small projects like wallets and tags.
The EC-27 is larger and more stable, with a suspended work surface that provides extra clearance for bigger items like bags and thick leather.
2. Can the Machine Be Used With Die Cuts?
No.These machines are designed for hot stamping and embossing only. Using them for die cutting may damage the equipment and is not recommended.
3. Can I Use Typesets From Other Brands?
Compatibility depends on the holder:
- #1 Holder supports custom copper molds (up to 2.4 × 7.7 cm) and many third-party molds with minor positioning adjustments.
- #2 Holder accommodates custom molds from 0 to 6x8cm and supports single-row typesets, though it is only compatible with MAXITA typesets.
For maximum flexibility, many users use both holders.
4. Can the Machine Stay On for Long Periods?
Yes.Both models are built for continuous operation and can run for up to 10 hours under normal conditions. Built-in protection systems help maintain stable performance.
5. What Is the Best Temperature for Hot Stamping?
Most users achieve great results at 110–120°C.
However, the optimal setting depends on leather type, foil quality, and design complexity.
For best results, test on a scrap piece before production.
6. How Long Should Each Stamp Press Last?
A press time of 2–3 seconds is usually sufficient for a clean, consistent stamp.
Results may vary depending on material and temperature, so quick testing is recommended.
