Overview
This guide explains how to properly use and adjust the infrared positioning system on MAXITA hot foil stamping machines. Correct infrared alignment ensures precise positioning, consistent stamping results, and reduced material waste.

What is the Infrared Positioning System?
The infrared (IR) system is a visual alignment tool used to help users position materials and stamping areas accurately before pressing. It projects a reference point or guide to improve stamping precision.
When to Adjust Infrared Settings
Adjust the infrared system when you notice:
- Misalignment between stamping area and design
- Inconsistent positioning during repeated stamping
- Material shift during operation
- After changing molds, holders, or worktables
Step-by-Step Infrared Adjustment Guide
1. Power On the Machine
- Turn on the MAXITA hot stamping machine
- Allow the system to fully initialize before adjustment
2. Activate the Infrared System
- Locate the infrared switch or control button
- Turn on the infrared positioning light
- Ensure the beam is clearly visible on the working surface
3. Position Your Material
- Place your leather, paper, or other material flat on the working table
- Secure it to avoid movement during alignment
4. Align the Infrared Marker
- Adjust the infrared projection point to match your desired stamping position
- Use fine adjustment knobs if available for precision tuning
5. Test Alignment
- Perform a dry run without pressure
- Check if the infrared guide matches the intended stamping area
6. Final Lock & Adjustment
- Once aligned, lock the positioning system if applicable
- Reconfirm alignment before starting production
Important Tips
- Always calibrate after changing dies or holders
- Ensure the working surface is clean and flat
- Avoid strong ambient light that may affect infrared visibility
- Recheck alignment before high-volume stamping
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring recalibration after changing molds
- Not securing material properly
- Adjusting infrared while the machine is under pressure
- Relying on visual estimation instead of IR guidance
Troubleshooting
Infrared not visible:
- Check power connection
- Restart machine
- Ensure IR function is enabled
Misalignment persists:
- Recalibrate from scratch
- Check if working surface is uneven
Weak infrared signal:
- Clean the IR emitter lens
- Reduce ambient lighting interference
